It is exciting to walk with the Lord into freedom from sin's habits. Sexual sins capture us in the enemy's grip; and the devil doesn't want to let go. We are called by God to lives of purity. But obeying God really isn't all that difficult, when we are motivated by His great love. God's Word gives us 3 radical strategies for overcoming sin's habits. 1. Radical Amputation of anything or anyone who causes us to sin. Jesus use this metaphor to illustrate how serious sin is. Sin entangles us. It gets in the way of God's best for us. 2. Radical Appropriation of Jesus and His LIFE as our own. We all have many false identities -idols that control us. But for the Saved, Jesus is our identity. He is our LIFE! 3. Radical Accountability with our Christian brothers; because we are stronger in our stand against sin together than alone. The next three strategies are relational. 4. Constant Attachment to Jesus 5. Passionate Adoration of Jesus 6. Accurate Affirmation of who I have become in and because of Jesus The seventh strategy is missional. 7.
