Our exclusive J.W. Anderson re-see is now live!
Blog - 4 days ago
When J.W. Anderson's latest menswear collection, coined 'The Mathematics of
Love', hit the runway in London, the reaction it caused was instantaneous
and stole the headlines on major publications worldwide. As Lou Stoppardpointed out in her show
report, 'right from the first exit, traditional codes of gender were
upturned'. Men were placed in skirts and dresses, ruffled gloves and knee
high boots, whilst muscled legs and arms were left bare.
Our* Re-See* presents a unique opportunity to put all the press coverage
and hearsay to one side, and hear straight from J.W. Anderson himsel... more »

Jeweller Delfina Delettrez opens up her record collection
Blog - 4 days ago
Jewellery designer Delfina Delettrez's *Fashion Mix* is a selection of
orchestral ambient delights. Unsurprisingly, given her passion for
surrealism, the mix is filled with trippy, melancholy pieces, from The
National’s *About Today* to Alexander Malter's piano version of Arvo Part’s
mystically meditative* Fuer Alina*. Never one to play by the rules, her mix
oscillates between full-bodied Southern sounds by Sonny Boy William II,
vintage rock anthems from Led Zeppelin and ethereal classics from Sigur
Ros. This diversity is apt given that Delettrez loves to work with
contrasts, whe... more »

3D scanning has been a central theme of SHOWstudio's content and vision.
I have been creating sculpture from 3D scans for at least the last decade
and working with an amazing man, Kev Stenning, from Rapido 3D who can push
the parameters of this new medium further than one could imagine.
I have scanned, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lady Gaga, Liberty Ross, and
Daphne Guinness to name just a few.
Our second project to ever launch on the fledgling SHOWstudio was called
Sweet and was 3D scans of Jane Hows recreation of her favourite pieces from

Lane Crawford fashion film is now live!
Blog - 1 week ago
In built into SHOWstudio's core is the desire to push and pioneer the media
of fashion film. For Nick Knight's latest film for Lane Crawford's
Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, Knight pushed the media to it's extreme, by
creating a film composed purely of 3D scans and animation. Not a single
film camera was used.
Featuring model Ming Xi, the film sees her adorned in creations from
Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, Alexander McQueen and Haider Ackermann.
Complete 3D body renders were created for Knight to visually pupeteer,
controlling Xi's every movement. She strides out with flowing skirt... more »

Tumblr's newest curator Guillermo Ramil Lopez
Blog - 1 week ago
Guillermo Ramil Lopez's stint as the curator of our Tumblr page has
started! Lopez is a medic student in Galicia, Spain and has his own page,
Escolma, which looks at how both art and medicine can be used to benefit
each other and help us better understand the human condition. Lopez's
selection of imagery mirrors this interest, with solitary naked figures,
subdued anatomical observations, and beautiful, romanticised pieces of
typography.
Lopez's first few hours at the helm of our Tumblr page saw a continuation
of this aesthetic, with coiled albino snakes, hospitalised patients,

SHOWstudio's Tumblr curator for February
Blog - 1 week ago
'I am fascinated by the nature of human beings and that's basically my main
inspiration. It's like a celebration of our humanity, its features, its
flaws and its diversity. I believe that art and medicine help each other to
understand humans from two different points of view: the spiritual side and
the physical side.'
Guillermo Ramil López lives in Galicia, northwest Spain, and studies
medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela. As the latest Tumblr
guest curator, Ramil López will express his interests in both art and
medicine, two industries that have consistently lock... more »
